India’s Workplaces Are Becoming Brand Experiences

Mumbai, October 2026: For years, companies designed offices primarily around efficiency, functionality and aesthetics. Increasingly, the question is becoming more fundamental: What should people experience when they are at work?

India’s workplaces are becoming an extension of the organisations they house, communicating culture, identity and purpose to employees, visitors and stakeholders.

The shift is reflected in the latest CBRE India Office Occupier Survey. 65% of occupiers now rank brand and culture-led design as their key priority for improving workplace experience , ahead of accommodating hybrid work at 50%. Among Global Capability Centres, 70% are prioritising workplace design and identity as tools for branding and talent attraction.

The change is significant. The workplace is no longer simply where people work. It is increasingly becoming one of the most consistently experienced expressions of an organisation.

This is the space that Happy Spaces India , the experience design studio of Elixir Integrated Brandcomm, has been working in for the past decade.

Founded in 2016 by  Ganesh Gadakh, an award-winning creative director, Pallavi Gadakh, a fashion enthusiast, and Abhay Kurdukar, a production expert , Happy Spaces India began with the idea of taking brand communication beyond screens and into physical environments.

“We see the entire workplace as a canvas. What we had been creating in pixels for brands, we could now create at architectural scale,” said Ganesh Gadakh, Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Elixir Integrated Brandcomm .

Over the years, the scale of that canvas has grown significantly, moving from individual workplace interventions to entire buildings. Landmark projects include CRISIL House in Mumbai, Rolls-Royce Office in Delhi, Ambit House in Mumbai, SKF Headquarters in Pune, Zydus Healthcare in Mumbai, SKF Global Technology Centre India in Bengaluru and De Beers HQ in Mumbai , collectively covering millions of square feet.

But the evolution is not only about scale.

The thinking behind workplace design is changing too.

Every organisation has a story, a culture and a purpose. The opportunity is to translate that into an environment that people can experience rather than simply communicate through presentations, campaigns or internal messaging.

Happy Spaces India brings together strategy, storytelling, art, spatial design, wayfinding, materiality and participation to create these experiences. Its work has also involved employees directly through large-scale mosaics, collaborative graffiti, interactive installations and thematic experiences.

“Ten years ago, the question was, ‘How do we brand our office?’ Increasingly, the question is, ‘How do we make our people experience our brand?’ That is a very different question.” said Gadakh.

Today, Happy Spaces India has transformed 75+ spaces covering 2.5 million+ sq. ft. across 16+ cities , with projects for organisations including Tata Chemicals, Rolls-Royce, De Beers, CRISIL, Zydus, Godrej, Ambit, SKF, Greaves Cotton, SBI General Insurance, Amdocs and Bridgestone.

Happy Spaces India now enters its 11th year with 15 lakh+ sq. ft. of projects in the pipeline .

This decade, we witnessed the transition from workplace design being about aesthetics to creating meaningful experiences for people. The next decade will be about creating workplaces that shape culture, deepen belonging and make the purpose of an organisation tangible.
