Powell Buckles Up Pan-India Sales of Homoeopathy Division to Power National AYUSH Ambition
Kolkata, October 8, 2026: In a decisive move aligned with the Ministry of AYUSH’s ambitious target of achieving USD 213 billion by 2030 for the sector, legacy homoeopathy major Powell Group has announced a renewed and aggressive push to bolster its Pan-India and export sales for its Homoeopathy Division.
Prof. Dr. Soumik Banerjee, MSc, PhD, Chief Scientific Officer of the company, said Powell is reorganising with renewed vigour to significantly contribute to this National Mission. “We are inspired by the Government’s vision and want to be a meaningful contributor to it,” he said.
The strategy is being driven under the leadership and guidance of MD & CEO Dr. Sudipta Narayan Roy. The company is now leveraging evidence-based AYUSH medicines and sharply increasing investments in clinical validations of its products. His vision, Prof. Banerjee said, is to align the company with the national ambition and mainstreaming of AYUSH through scientific validation.
Carrying forward a rich legacy, Powell was founded by Late Prof. Dr. Sailendra Nath Roy, a visionary in the AYUSH healthcare sector. The same ideology and philosophy are being carried forward with commitment by Co-founder and Chairperson of the Group, Dr. Rita Roy, who continues to anchor the organisation in its core values of trust, science and service.
What makes Powell a distinctive and investable model for stakeholders is its unparalleled repertoire of almost 30,000 generic SKUs, a manufacturing depth few in the sector can match. To fuel its next phase of growth into diverse verticals, the company has also tied up with Dubai-based financial consultancy firm SR LLC-FZ for the exploration of FDI and global partnerships.
Prof. Banerjee added that the immediate focus is on aggressive scaling in the Homoeopathy market. In line with this, the company has appointed Mr. Shovan Chaule as SBU Head of the Homoeopathy Division. A Gold Medalist in Pharmaceutical Technology and a management graduate from Delhi University, Mr. Chaule started his career at Lupin, later held key managerial positions at Abbott and other leading brands, and for over a decade served in senior management roles in Homoeopathy companies, including WSI, a German Homoeopathy MNC. His experience and expertise will be deployed for aggressive market expansion of the division.
Adding to the growth narrative, Dr. Subrata Chatterjee, MD, PhD, presently Medical Director of the company and Former Executive Director & CEO of Allen Labs, said the company is prudently exploring high-potential verticals like OTC & FMCG with Ayurvedic products, anticipating a substantial market share in the burgeoning AYUSH segment.
With scientific leadership, a legacy of five decades, a massive product portfolio and fresh leadership infusion, Powell is positioning itself not just as a participant but as a frontrunner in India’s AYUSH growth story – a promising proposition for investors and stakeholders alike.
