A DJ Career Rooted in Kolkata

His wider event history also includes festival and electronic-music associations connected with Dusk, G.O.D., Sunset Anthem and Highway Music Festival.

Scotty — Kolkata Techno & Electronic Music DJ

Scotty, the artist name of Scott Jordan, is a Kolkata electronic music DJ known for sets spanning techno, melodic techno, progressive house, deep house and tech house. His approach centres on extended transitions, atmospheric progression and rhythmic movement, allowing a set to develop over time rather than being defined by a single genre or fixed formula.

His broader musical range also reaches into progressive, minimal, electro, electronica, deep trance, trance and psy-oriented sounds. That range reflects an interest in electronic music as a wider culture rather than a single category.

A Sound Built Around Techno, Melodic Techno and Movement

Rather than presenting one narrowly defined style, Kolkata DJ Scotty’s sound connects several forms of electronic music. Techno and melodic techno sit alongside progressive house, deep house and tech house, with the final direction shaped by the room, the audience and the length of the set.

Scotty describes the philosophy behind his sets through three words: rhythm, atmosphere and movement. The idea is simple: a DJ set should develop as an experience rather than operate as a sequence of isolated tracks. Long-form sets, often extending to four hours or more, give him the space to build tension, release and progression gradually.

The Track Record Behind the Name

Scotty’s club history includes multiple Kolkata residencies and appearances, alongside work across different cities in India. His listed venue history includes spaces in Kolkata as well as Mumbai, Delhi, Guwahati, Siliguri, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Shillong, Gangtok and Lucknow.

This geographical spread reflects a DJ career that has developed beyond a single local room while retaining Kolkata as its base. Across different venues and audiences, the common thread remains an electronic-music-led approach built around musical progression and sustained energy.

From Kolkata to India’s Electronic Music Circuit

Based in Kolkata, Scotty’s DJ career has taken him across India’s electronic music circuit, connecting club work, music programming and event appearances across multiple cities. His profile sits within a growing Indian electronic music landscape in which DJs are increasingly building identities around sound, programming and longer-format experiences.

For promoters, venues and music professionals looking for a techno, melodic techno or electronic music DJ in Kolkata, Scotty represents an artist profile built around long-form sets, musical progression and a broad understanding of club programming.
